Starbridge Media Group To Serve as Production Partner for Former NFL Linebacker Andre Collins’ Literary and Creative Pursuits

Starbridge Media Group Teams Up With Writer, Artist, All-American, and Super Bowl Champion Andre Collins to Represent His Kids’ Book “What Teammates Do”

Starbridge Media Group, Inc. will serve as publisher and production partner for the sports-themed concept “What Teammates Do” created by former NFL and Penn State linebacker Andre Collins, company CEO Jamie Crittenberger announced today.

“What Teammates Do” is a family-targeted multi-media concept, currently in its first-run publication, that aims to provide a positive message for children and sports fans by emphasizing the concepts of teamwork and fair play. The first edition of the book series takes readers on the adventures of “Little Andre,” and is based on author Collins’ experiences as a student-athlete. Throughout the book, Little Andre discovers the characteristics necessary to be a good teammate.

Andre Collins played 10 years as a standout linebacker in the National Football League, for the Washington Redskins, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, and Detroit Lions. He was the Redskins’ top pick in the 1990 NFL Draft, and was a starter on the team’s Super Bowl XXVI squad in its win over the Buffalo Bills in the 1991 season. He was an All-American at Penn State University and played for the Nittany Lions from 1986-89, where he was a member of the 1986 National Championship team. Currently, he serves as the Director of Retired Players for the NFL Players’ Association. He also created the “Smocks and Jocks” annual charitable art show event at the Super Bowl, which features works by current and former NFL players and is intended to accentuate the often overlooked artistic side of professional football players.

“Andre Collins is a first-rate human being and artist who also happened to have been a superstar football player,” said Starbridge Media Group President Ken Hutman. “His passion for his art and people is evident in his work. We are honored to work with him in expanding his artistic platform and message.”

A portion of all proceeds from the sale of books in the series benefit “The Second Mile,” a non-profit organization that plans, organizes, and offers activities and programs for children to promote self-confidence as well as physical, academic, and personal success.
