Starbridge Media Group Inks In-Stadium Animation Content Licensing Deal with Tampa Bay Rays

DC-area firm partners with the 2008 American League Champion Rays to showcase “Bangs and the Tank” at Tropicana Field

Starbridge Media Group, Inc. is licensing its animated series of baseball-related educational episodes entitled “Battery Mates: Bangs and the Tank” to the Tampa Bay Rays for use during the 2009 season, Starbridge CEO Jamie Crittenberger announced today.

Created in conjunction with CCI Entertainment and Smiley Guy Studios to add video board and educational excitement to the game-day atmosphere, Starbridge’s “Bangs and the Tank” series consists of animated short videos that teach the rules and strategies of baseball in a fun, comedic, and entertaining manner. “Bangs and the Tank” features a cast of true baseball characters, and stars two unique, TV-quality characters: Bangs McBride and Tank Wilson. Each individual episode focuses on a different component of the game such as “Bunt,” “Double Play,” “Balk,” and “Stealing First.”

The Rays plan to use “Bangs and the Tank” at Tropicana Field during the team’s home game Sundays and designated “Park and Recreation Days” during the 2009 Major League Baseball season.

“We are thrilled to have an opportunity to work with one of professional sports’ most innovative and fan-friendly franchises,” said Starbridge President Ken Hutman. “We feel strongly that ‘Bangs and the Tank’ is an engaging and entertaining way to teach young spectators about the game of baseball, and we are excited to showcase it to the Rays’ fans – young and old.”

“‘Bangs and the Tank’ is an outstanding educational entertainment option that will energize our young Rays’ fans,” said Rays Vice President of Branding and Fan Experience Darcy Raymond.
